Dr. Sahar Hassan

Dr. Sahar Hassan is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Birzeit University, Palestine, and former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Professions. She holds a PhD in Women’s Health from the University of Oslo, Norway, and a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She was recently appointed to the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group (STAG) of the WHO-led HRP Special Programme. She serves as country coordinator for the Midwifery Research and Education Development project (2020–2026), in collaboration with Oslo Metropolitan University and the University of Ghana. She supervises undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students. With over 30 years of experience, she has secured research grants and led qualitative, quantitative, and clinical studies, including national and multi-country projects. She has authored over 30 publications focused on maternal and sexual and reproductive health in humanitarian and fragile settings and contributes to national and international scientific committees.
