Ms. Brianna Kramer Mills

Past Speaker

Brianna Kramer Mills is a seasoned English Teacher. Brianna has 9 years of teaching experience with her most recent role being at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Brianna is currently pursuing her M.Ed. Literacy with ESOL add on at The Citadel and recently completed two graduate level classes at The University of South Carolina as part of their AWAKE STEM Cohort focused on Project Based Learning. Outside of these programs, Brianna has acquired +30 graduate-level credits, 18 of which were from a joint MA English program. Brianna also holds a BA in English and Secondary Education Certification from Ursinus College and TESOL Certification from The World Learning SIT Graduate Institute. Brianna's expertise and interest are in working with marginalized populations and in non-traditional education, and her pedagogy is teaching students how versus what to think. Brianna has obtained an award for Teaching the Highest Standards of English 1 at North Charleston High School, a Teacher of the Month award at Oceanside Collegiate Academy, and The Most Flexible Award at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, which recognizes teachers for their unmatched adaptability. Brianna has been accepted to share her MA English- related research on Joanna Baillie's Count Basil at the 2018 Philological Association of the Carolina's (PAC) Conference in 2018. Brianna has also had a personal essay published by Skirt Magazine (Charleston, SC's first women's magazine) and articles published by CampusSports.net for their lifestyle section.
